Kung Fu Schools Raise £17'000
Students of Kung Fu Schools raised £17'000 for the Peter Andre Foundation supporting Cancer Research UK. Peter Andre visited Kung Fu Schools Croydon on Friday 28th August to present our Black Belt Fundraisers with a special award and to thank them personally. We are extremely proud of all of our students and of the hard work they have put in to raise money for this amazing cause.
February 2015, Chinese New Year Celebration
On Sunday 22nd February Kung Fu Schools Croydon and the Chinese Confucius Institute for TCM at London South Bank University will be welcoming in the Chinese New Year, the year of the Goat, at the Whitgift Centre in Croydon. There will be a performances on stage by students of Kung Fu Schools Croydon, the London Confucius Institute for TCM and much more. The shows are at 1:00pm and again at 2:30pm with lots to do in between, we look forward to seeing you there!
February 2015, Kung Fu Schools Sponsored Board Break
Kung Fu Schools will be holding a sponsored board break starting on Saturday 14th February until Thursday 19th February to raise money for the Peter Andre Foundation supporting Cancer Research UK. Last Year the Kung Fu Schools organisation raised over £23'000 for this very worthy cause and we are aiming to break this record this year!
2011-09-20, Kung Fu Schools at London South Bank University
Kung Fu Schools' Sifu Alan Paterson and Sifu Paul Hawkes were invited to the UK Confucius Institutes National Conference at London South Bank University. The Event was the first of its kind, giving attendees the opportunity to share views on the long-term sustainability of UK Confucius Institutes.
Sifu Paul Hawkes gave a closing speech on the positive impact Kung Fu has on both Children and adults, as well as the impact the Martial Art has had on Chinese Heritage. The self defence aspect was also discussed, as well as the ethos of Kung Fu and the positive improvements it can make to the Mind, Body and Soul.
2011-09-14, Kung Fu Schools at the House of Commons
On 14th September The All Part Parliamentary China Group were at the House of Commons for the UK Confucius Institutes National Conference. Among the speakers were H.E Ambassador Liu Xiaoming, who described every language as 'a countries DNA' and discussed the best practise on Chinese Language training, in particular the development of Mandarin, and methods to make it more fun.
SiFu Alan Paterson and Sifu Paul Hawkes were invited to discuss the culture of Kung Fu, as well as the positive impact it has on the Mind, Body and Spirit of both Children and Adults as well as the self defence aspect of the martial art. The impact on Chinese heritage that Kung Fu has had was also discussed, as well as Kung Fu being an imprint Chinese Culture.
